Boot last descriptions

last is the foundation for any shoe or boot. It determines the fit of the finished product. Lasts are made out of plastic, milled to our exact size and shape specifications. Unlike many other footwear manufacturers, Danner builds our lasts to the ½ size, for the best possible fit. Each last is used over and over to deliver consistency in the manufacturing process.

The key variables among the different lasts are in the overall shape, width of the toe box and the volume (depth). Understanding the differences of each last, as well as knowing the characteristics of your own foot, will provide a good guideline for selecting the best fitting pair of boots

Once you determine which last(s) work best for you, you will know what to expect in terms of fit for any other shoe built with the same last.
