You do not need to condition any nubuck, rough-out or suede Leather. You can condition the leather with waterproofing spray, as it won’t affect the nap but may darken the leather. The best way to keep your nubuck, rough-out, or suede boots in good condition is by giving them a simple brushing. This will take dirt out of the nap, enhancing the natural waterproofing and breathable properties of the material.
Once you are done with the cleaning, we recommend applying waterproofing spray for nubuck or suede leather. Apply the spray and allow the boots to dry for a few minutes, then wipe away the excess. Try to avoid soaking the leather and instead lightly coat it.
Please note: We do not recommend using anything containing animal fats such as mink oil as these tend to clog the pores of the leather as well as the GORE-TEX waterproof lining which can cause reduced breathability and eventual failure.
