There are some Danner styles that have a tongue which is more prone to slide to the side. For example, the Mountain Light’s folding tongue design can cause the top portion to shift to the side during wear. Additionally, some non-waterproof styles that have a free-hanging tongue (not-gusseted), like the Bull Run, can also shift. While this typically doesn’t inhibit your ability to effectively wear them, if it does become an issue, first check to see if there are two slits pre-cut into the center outside of your tongue. If there are, re-tie your laces, lacing them through the slit so that the tongue will always stay centered in the middle of the boot. If your boot doesn’t have slits cut into them, you can have a local shoe repair easily add them.
